Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
ToolDock ("we", "the site") provides free, browser-based file tools at tooldockworks.com. This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately do not collect, and how advertising works on the site.
Your files stay on your device
Almost all tools on ToolDock — image conversion, audio and video editing, PDF work, text and data utilities, QR generation and more — run entirely inside your web browser. The files you process with these tools are never uploaded to our servers; they are read and modified locally by your browser, and we never see them.
File transfer sessions
Our optional file-transfer feature does upload files, because someone else needs to receive them. When you create a transfer session:
- Files are stored privately and are only reachable through a short, random access code and a short-lived, expiring download link.
- Transfer sessions expire automatically (currently after 10 minutes) and are then deleted.
- Transfer metadata (file names, sizes, an access code and the time of the transfer) is logged for abuse prevention and moderation.
- Do not use transfers for confidential documents. Anyone who obtains the access code during the session window can download the files.
Contact form
If you contact us through the Contact page, we store the name (optional), email address and message you submit, so that we can reply. We use it only for that purpose and do not sell or share it. You can ask us to delete your message at any time via the same form.
Operational logs
For security, abuse prevention and aggregate usage statistics, we log limited operational events — such as a transfer being created or a file being downloaded — together with the requester's IP address and browser user-agent. These logs are not used to build advertising profiles and are accessible only to site administrators.
Cookies and advertising
ToolDock displays advertising, which is planned to be served by Google AdSense once the account is approved. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more at Google's advertising policies. We also store small local preferences in your browser (for example, your favorite tools and dismissed notices); these never leave your device.
Third-party services
- Google AdSense — advertising, subject to Google's own privacy policy.
- Hosting platform (Base44) — provides the site's hosting, authentication and storage infrastructure.
Children
ToolDock is a general-audience tool site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the date above will change when we do. Questions or requests about privacy can be sent through our Contact page.
